How would I do custom maps and battle sprites in a ROM? Also, how would I change the title screen/game select images?

You can change images by using Nlz-gba advance and looking through the files, saving them, editing them, and reinserting them.

For custom maps use the map tutorial in the ultimate tutorial.

Custom sprites aren't really that possible ATM so I can't help u sorry.

Anymore question just ask and welcome to FEShrine.

Couldn't the image changing process be used to change around sprites?

EDIT: I can't seem to find the chapter in the ultimate tutorial for maps, because it is only showing chapters 1 and 2

Yes it can but you can only make minor edits (for example, making a sword shorter, editing off Hector's cape, etc). You can't actually change the animation as a whole without some super hax is what I mean.

Regarding the tutorial try loading it and waiting for it to completely load, it shouldn't take that long but if it's not working then I'll have to think of something else to do unfortunately.

Well I can't really teach it, if I could I would, first you have to get the sprite sheet of a sage with a hood, and then you have to find the graphic in NLZ-GBA Advance or unLZ-GBA (google them), export the image, edit it and add the hood, and then re-insert it, as for how to "edit" it, that's up to you, there's no exact way to do it, you just have to use MS paint and edit the image like you would edit a sprite. :/

It's actually not all that hard for editing, you just have to make sure you don't edit the sprite too big or it gets screwed up..
Gimme rice and I'll love you forever.

Alright thanks. Another question on maps - does it matter what the offset is (besides the whole ending thing) or does it have to be in a certain range?

Uh, yeah, the offset has to be somewhere where it's empty, expand your ROM and get empty space and then import it there and change the pointer to point to that offset. ohmy.gif
